Hi wendy,

I have not stayed there but it is near several good tourist attractions and also some good beaches are within a couple of km. if you are in the town centre.

You will need a car, as with most places on the island, as the public transport is not designed for tourists.

If transfer does not come with your package i suggest that you hire a car to collect from, and return to the airport. This will save you about 20 euros in taxi fares each way. Look at the following local firms that are regularly recommended by Cephalonia visitors. Greekstones, Pefanis, Venus car hire, cbr.

If you want any more help then you have only to ask.

Have a great time

Bob

Hi Bob thanks for your reply, we have booked a car from pefanis for the week so hopefully we can travel round and see some of the island, have been to many places in Greece but this is first time to Kefalonia, I can imagine it to be a lot like Zante, I hope the roads are reasonable because my husband hates the steep winding roads with a sheer drop at the side.

Hi wendy,

I can understand you husbands fears. Although after many years visiting the island I have got over it now (almost!).

All the main roads now have barriers on the dangerous looking bits and the roads in the South of the island are fine.

I always remember that coaches and lorries pass each other on these roads.

Bob
