money

Hi, travelling to Kefalonia next week, staying in Lassi. Was just going to take a small amount of cash in euro's for when I 1st arrive. After that was just going to use my debit card and withdraw cash at ATM's as I need it. Is this ok idea? Thought it would be less hassle than getting travellers cheques changed and don't want to take a load of cash with me.

Could anyone tell me if this is reasonable idea or silly, for whatever reason!? Thanks.

It a splendid idea. Whereever I go in Greece I use my debit card to withdraw money. It is simple and easy. Although not being to Kefalonia, I have never had a problem finding one or more ATMs, even on much smaller islands. Travellers cheques are practically dead.
