Getting around Corfu island

Hello there!

First visit to Corfu coming up really soon!

Corfu seems like a small-ish island best explored and easily , by car!

Unfortunately, I will be travelling mostly on my own and I don't drive.

What's the best way for me to explore the island ? are buses scheduled frequently and well routed and takes u to most villages/small towns all over the island?

I will be staying near Barbati.

Will appreciate any thoughts and advice!

Buses on the island are not bad at all. For visiting some places you'll need to go into Corfu Town and out again.

Buses are operated by KTEL. Armed with a map and the timetables, you can get about pretty well

Handy information. Is this the only bus company?

Does anyone know what the journey time is from Sidari to Corfu? Also Corfu to Paleokastritsa?

Thanks.

The KTEL bus company runs the green bus service which serves Paleo and Sidari routes, as well as many others to the villages. It arrives/departs the Green Bus Station near the new Port in Corfu Town. I think that Sidari takes about 1 1/2 hours and Paleo about 45 minutes.

The services serve the local community/villages. If you want something a little speedier from Sidari, coach trips can be got from local companies in Sidari to Corfu Town for day or evening sight-seeing/shopping/eating. You get about 4 hours there, and cost perhaps 10 euros or a bit less (it's a while since I got one).

As an idea of routes (although not a Bible for times), this is a useful link

Dobrou noc :-)
