different areas of zante... Please help?

Hi. Could someone please advise me on the different areas in zante? We are looking to go August 2015 and there will be 4 adults, 3 young children and an 18 year old. We would like somewhere that isn't too rowdy/full of nightclubs etc but would also like enough to do so the children/teenager doesn't get bored. Somewhere that retains the greek culture would also be good (ie/ not too British and commercialised). Also we would like to go somewhere with a gorgeous sandy beach. Thank you :-)

All the main resorts on Zante cater to the British to some extent but have a look at Alykes and Alykanas, two separate resorts but close enough together to easily walk between the two. They share a great beach and there are plenty of restaurants and bars.

We stay in Argassi which also has plenty of bars/restaurants and a couple of bars have DJ's and dance floors, the beach isn't the best but it's ok and there are some great beach bars with free sunbeds to make up for it.

Argassi is also close to Vassilikos which has the best beaches on the island although you would need to hire a car to get the best out of this particular area.

Me my wife and 3 kids stayed in alkes last year but have booked the alykanas beach hotel in alykanas it's on the beach not full of rowdy teenagers and they reckon you can walk quiet a way in the sea knee height so might be a good bet here
