Child friendly resort

Hi

I have visited Greece before but never Halkidiki. I am looking to go in August with my husband and our 7yo boy. I want a resort with a lovely beach and not too commercialised- ie: not lines and lines of sunbeds on the beach - although we don't want it too quiet as our son would be bored. Any thoughts? Thanks

I can recommend Hanioti my kids love it they are 9, 10 and 5 and we have been going there the last few years.

There are watersports on beach, lots of nice bars and restaurants.

Theres also a bouncy castle/trampoline place called farytopia in the centre which is good for kids.

It is very low key and mainly visited by couples and families , so no rowdy groups of girls and boys overdoing the drinking. #

The beach is a bit shingly , however there is better beaches in Palliouri and Kassandra within easy reach from Hanioti.

We normally go May/June whit hols for two weeks but couldnt this year, but am planning on going in August again depending on prices, coz they are still sky high at the moment.

We normally stay at the Lesse hotel with First Choice although you can book direct if you can sort out flights cheap enough.

Take a look at www.hit360.com/lesse/en.

Click on Pool view and room view (not room as our rooms are not like that). Usually a double bed or two singles and a sofa/bed thingy.

Hi,i can highly recommend the Sani beach hotel(Sani resort) in Halkidiki.

The resort is absolutely beautiful and very family friendly.

We stayed there a couple of years ago.We had always wanted to stay on the Greek mainland and plumped for the Sani resort. It may be a touch more expensive than other places but its worth it.

After your evening meal you can walk it off with a lovely stroll along to the Marina which is lined with boutique style shops and lovely open air restaurants and bars. There isnt a car in site so its very safe for the kids. Also there are no lager-louts,just families.

The pool at the hotel can get a little crowded in the summer but we always went to the beach around the right corner from the hotel pool. When you are sat on this beach you would swear you were in the Caribbean. The water is crystal clear and you can walk out at least 100m and it is still only up to your waist.

The hotel is in no way commercialised but is still a great place to stay. The whole hotel has recently been renovated.

Try to get a beach front suite. You have your own private garden which looks out onto the beach 15m away.

I would definately book this hotel above all others.

Sani is nice yes but can cost you an arm and a leg, so i'd rather go to the nice villages that cost a lot less and go every year. When you have more than one kid and have to go in school hols it can definatley cost you a small fortune to go to the sani resort. We have three so know what im talking about.

If you do decided to stay in either the kassandra pennisula villages ie Hanioti, Pefkohori, Polichrono, Kripogi, Kalithea or Afitos, you can hire a car to go to the sani beach and other beaches/ places whenever you want.
