1. Re: Sani Beach Hotel

hi.

in my opinion it is the best resort all ove3r halkidiki.

sani beach hotel is an impressive 4 star hotel.lobby and public spaces are large and elegant.the rooms are fully renovated but rather small in size (lcd-tft t.v. set, mini-bar, 24 hours room service, air-condition, and nice views to the sea or the gardens.a big plus is the lovely balcony in every room.breakfast is above average but nothing extraordinary.the pool although it is largetends to be crowded sometimes.the sea is marvellous.there are plenty of taverns and restaurants around the magnificent marina and some shops(magazines, tobacco shop, souvenirs, jewelry etc)there is a mini market where you can buy water snacks ice creams one third of the price compaire to hotel's prices.there is not much to do in thearea aroumd so you better stick on the resort.there are plenty of sports to do including watersports etc. maybe a day trip to thessaloniki would be a good idea.many tourist agencies can be found in the hotel.in general you gonna love it.we go to sani resort from 2000 and we still find it great.

hi.

usually the weather at the beggining of june is just fine for beach holidays. you can rent a car if you like to take day trips to the rest of halkidiki for example to sithonia area (next to kassandra where sani resort is)where the nature and the beaches are trully wonderful, less crowded and more picturesque than in kassandra.so you can for a day to visit most of sithonia, for swimming and lunch.beautiful beaches can be found almost anywhere there, just pick the one you like most-many beaches can be seen from the road while you drive.some famous beaches in sithonia are: akti kalogrias, sarti, kavourotripes, armenisti, porto carras.near the resort is the village of fokes which has some nice taverns less expensive from the resort's taverns.if you go in sani with the half board then you have the priviledge of trying many other restaurants in the resort with no or small extra charge-in this way you have the chance of not dining every evening in the same restaurant.definatelly for a special dinner try artemis restaurant in porto sani village.

Hello,

Saw your message re Sani, we are going a week later to the Beach Hotel. A bit concerned re Euro and costs as we are going half board, and are being accompanied by some heavy drinking (and we like expensive wines ) friends!

Also, does anyone have an opinion of one not to be missed site in the area?

Thanks

Sorry to crash your question.

hi.

wines at the rstaurants and taverns of sani resort starts from around 30 euros a bottle and in some restaurants can cost up to 700 euros!but this is an extreme price for veru special wines.a good quality wine is around 30-40 euros per bottle.some high quality greek wines are: vivlia hora, syrah tsantali, most of lazaridis wines especially chateau lazaridis, chateau julia, paraga kir yiannis, alpha wine.

Hi Telis

many thanks for all your help and advice, its much appreciated.

Sounds like we have made a good choice choosing Sani Beach Hotel, one more question, can you hire mopeds?? or would you recomend a car? is it safe to drive in Halkidiki and are the routes to other areas easy?

Sorry that's more than one question isn't it.

Thank you

hi.

it is better to hire a car for safety reasons and because the roads in halkidiki aren't bad but not great either.drivers in greece are not the worst but not the best!

something about nightlife: sani resort has some pretty nice bars: except from hotels bars( poseidon in the hotel, and dolphin bar in the hotel again, bousoulas beach bar, ammos bar, porto sani bar, sea you bar restaurant in the marina etc)many bars and in general nightlife are located in kallithea village which is a place for more massive tourism than sani resort.you can just go for a drink there if you want to hung out until very late at night.there are also souvenir stores and taverns as well.about 15 min. drive maybe 20 from sani.

i forgot to tell you that at the end of kassandra area paliouri village is peaceful and has around beautiful not crowded beaches.

Great thanks, we like peaceful, we are not into nightlife really. We mostly like to take in the atmosphere and like visiting local arco sites.

And trips, grateful for letting us know the quieter beach, sounds perfect for us.

Ok so car would be better then? great we will look into it and see how much it is for maybe a few days hire.

Thank you so much for everything

hi.

forgot to tell you that if you take day trip to sithonia area then stop for lunch in porto koufo.it is a very picturesque place with few houses and small taverns around a very small gulf -it seems like you are in a lake surrounded with beautiful nature.you go there from marmaras village you pass porto carras grand resort entrance and you can find it after a while on your right hand.you turn right from the main road-there are signs.
