Does anyone know why they only do flights from London or Manchester to Halkidiki and no airports like cardiff etc? Seems very strange
Supply and demand I would have thought! Check the Thomson site, think you will find a few more airports than you mentioned!!
Keep in mind that there is also no airport at Halkidiki. The nearest airport is Thessaloniki's "Macedonia" International Airport (SKG), so if you are going to Halkidiki, this is where you're flying to.
Hi, how far away is the airpor to halkidiki please.
Yes, exactly... it does depend on where you're gonna be at.
You might be at a resort just 30km away from the airport (Nea Kalikrateia for example) or 45km away (Nea Moudania eg.), or even 90-110 km away (Nikiti, Neos Marmaras, Vourvourou, Sarti etc).
Someone has put "supply and demand" - I would have though that halkidiki would have been popular???
The fact that Halkidiki is popular does not mean that airports from all over the UK will be flying to Thessaloniki. London and Manchester are flying there, and also other charther flights from the rest of the UK.
It is true that Cardiff and Macedonia-Thessaloniki is not linked directly. And Thomsonfly flies from there to Corfu, Kos, Rhodes, Heraklion, Kefalonia, Zante. However also Thomson flies directly to Macedonia-Thessaloniki from London, Manchester, Newcastle, East Midlands.
Why not try Cardiff-Paris-Macedonia/Thessaloniki? Flybe/Easyjet.
Hi, It would be Nea Moudania ..... assume this part is not "cloudy" (for example tenerife they say stick to the south of the island)
Sorry for all the questions.
