sani beach HOTEL sunbeds on the beach

hi we are going to sani beach hotel next summer, we have read a few reviews which all sound good but we notice a few people have complained about sanis system of reserving beach sunbeds ie: you have to book in advance to get them. we prefer the beach really and are a bit worried we won't get them as we are only there a week.has anyone got an opinion or advice on this. also what trips can you do from here for adults and children.

Hi,

sunbeds by the pool at sani hotel do NOT need to be booked.

However, they cannot be reserved before 9am.

That is you can't get up early, throw a towel on a lounger and go back to bed.

You can use them as early as you want but you have to stay with them until 9 or the towels will be removed.

And its only 1 person 1 bed.

Its acually good fun, if your an early riser, to go down early and watch the sport!!!

hi.

there is no reservation system for sun beds.usually you can find on the beach of the hotel around 09:00-10:00 0'clock plenty-also the sunbeds around the pool are not reserved but the swimming pool area tends to be crowded.it is a fantastic resort you going to love it.there are many travel agencies located in the hotel with plenty of suggestions for excursions e.g. thessaloniki museums, vergina archeological site, petralona cave etc.

I stayed at the Sani Village but recall there was an area on the beach by the Beach Hotel with reserved sunbeds, maybe that was it? It was certainly very crowded there from what I recall.

p.s I should have said, if you walked for maybe 15 minutes past the crowded area the beach became much less busy, almost empty, then after a while you got into the nudists area:-)

Hi - I know this one has kind of been dealt with, but there were some bits that I dont think a newcomer to Sani will get from the previous replies. We have been to Sani Beach Hotel for the last three years running and yes, it is lovely there. Stick to the beach behind the peninsula/ruins which is long, sandy and beautiful. They have a selection of sunbeds which are situated below Boussoulas Beach bar, which, if you have a suite of any kind (junior beach front are by far the best value for money), you can arrange for your sunbeds to be reserved. Waitress service here too. Otherwise, walk further past and find sunbeds away from the crowds - more locals come here over weekend, but we find that better than English. Never seen a full nude - plenty of topless which is nothing these days. Water clear and perfect for our little girl who learned to swim in the sea here! Swimming pool is the same as any hotel - like a previous post, eat your breakfast in the Ammos and watch the idiots faff about for sunbeds...

The marina is lovely - mixing with the (very) rich and fortunate, but can be quiet after 10pm. Be sure to get a cab/hire car into Afitos, a picturesque village. Have a beer on the cliff side and then eat delicious and lower priced food in one of the many restaurants. Trendy bars are beginning to crop up, but they still welcome kids so no worries.

We normally take the day boat trip from Sani marina. They will do a packed lunch, and its nice to see the resort from sea. Book this at reception.

Thessalonika is a bustling city, with great shops and restaurants. Quite a drive, though so u may want to stay the whole day.

Great archiological site called Dion - right off beaten track. Fantastic wildlife and of course, the ruins. Buy an ordnance survey map and scour the local area for sights. Hope this helps - makes me a little sad that we aren't returning this year...
