Taking a rented car from Bansko to Thessaloniki ??

Hello,

We have an apartament in Bansko and would like to combine a trip there this summer with a few days visit to Thessaloniki, our worries being that this may not be possible with with a hire car from Sofia Airport where we will fly in to- does anybody know if this is possible? We could fly to Thessaloniki and then go to Bansko but again the car would have to cross the border. Any ideas?? Thanks Helen.

hi.

you can consult an international car rental company.bulgaria now is in the eu countries so most probably you can rent a car from e.g. from avis and cross the bordersthe other option is maybe to rent a car in bansko drive up to the bulgarian-greek borders, leave the car there to a representative of the company and then have another rented car waiting for you to the greek side.

another option could be to arrange with a taxi driver from bansko to take you to the borders and from the greek borders to have a rental car waiting for you.all these solutions if possible might be costly though.
