Jenny, we've stayed at The Captains's View on numerous occasions and the location is just perfect for grocery shopping - and the bakery is just a few yards away (oh the smell of freshly baked bread in the morning). The best tavernas are down on the harbour, which means quite a walk down the hill but the location of Captaian's View (just below the castle and near the top of the hill) means the views are the best you'll get anywhere in Greece. Well worth the walk back up!! I couldn't recommend this property highly enough. Book it now or regret it forever!

We also have stayed at Captain's View many times and cannot recommend it enough---the home is clean and charming, its views are superb, good markets with wonderful produce nearby, great tavernas and restaurants within an easy walk....you will love your stay there!

Hi,

Just read your message on Molyvos. You say there is a market there. is it an open air type and can you say what days there is a market and where it is?

Many Thanks

There's no market as such in Molyvos - a few mini-markets, all selling fresh produce, and travelling sellers selling all sorts of things. The Market Street (agora) is covered in vines and wisteria, with shops lining the whole way - lots of souveneir type shops, some very nice jewellry shops, mixed in with tavernas, butcher, barber, main bakery for the town, post office and doctors' offices. All closed for the afternoon of course!

Hope this of some help.
