In Kalavryta try to find a small taverna called "Ayli" (Αυλι ? Αυγλι ? - not sure of exact spelling from memory). It was on the edge of town near the station & not on the main pedestrianised central town street where most of the tavernas are. We discovered it on an overnight stay in 2010 so hope it is still in business - a small family place, owner called Gregory & with a small daughter Christina. His wife made delicious food - her homemade Bifteki was the best I had in Greece! If you start from the station & face towards the line running out of town it was down a side street on the left of the track.

In Kardamyli (also 2010) we had an excellent meal at "Perivolis", which had more unusual dishes & was perhaps a little more pricey than the usual places we go, but excellent value. We also ate at "Taverna Skardamoulas" which was equally delicious & very cheap!
