New ferry service - Kalamata to Kissamos, Crete

The Vitsentzos Kornaros which runs every Thursday between Gythio and Kissamos will run a high season service between Kalamata and Kissamos every Saturday. The same boat also runs Piraeus to Kissamos via Monemvasia on Fridays and back again on Sunday in high season. A welcome addition for those wishing to travel between the Peloponnese and Crete.

Good news, thanks for the info. Certainly keeping the VK busy at weekends. The Monemvasia / etc route must be a success. Third (?) year it's been operating. Certainly a nice weekend break from Athens . Could be useful for independent travelers who want to visit "the Rock" or reach western Crete.
