Skopelos

I have just booked a week in Skiathos at the beginning of September with a friend - after reading a few more reviews I am a bit worried that we will miss out on the traditional Greek towns. We don't want something loud and full of nightclubs but still want a bit of life and atmosphere. Is there enough going on in Skopelos for 2 friends in their late 30's?

Hey again:-) You got some great responses on your other post;-) Bottom line, we all have our faves! You'll certainly find what you're looking for in Skopelos.. mostly more mellow type café/bars but there are lively ones for sure with music and a more active vibe going if that's what you're looking for;-)

Where are you looking to base?! In the main Town.. by a beach?;-) You've got loads of choices with some of the best beaches around.. take a look at www.skopelosweb.gr/ for some ideas;-) FWIW, Skopelos is about 3 times the size of Skiathos.. way more spread out.. and even in Season doesn't feel packed! You can get from one end of the isle to the other in Skiathos in about half an hour on the bus.. takes about an hour+ in Skopelos.. the beaches in Skiathos are more sandy.. the ones in Skopelos are predominantly rocky.. smooth pebble.. take a look at the pics of the various beaches on the site and you'll get a good idea of what to expect!

If you haven't seen Mama Mia yet, take a look.. the beaches of Kastani and Agnondas are featured in the movie.. doesn't get any better IMO:-) EnJOY!
