Copenhagen Itinerary

Hello Copenhagen,

I'd like to ask some help to refine my itinerary..

4 adults traveling to CPH between Dec 30 and Jan 2.

We intend to get a 72-H CPH card.

Dec 30: arriving into CPH at noon; stroll down Stroget, visit Tivoli Gardens

Dec 31: Torvehallerne, Rosenborg Castle, Canal Tour, Christiansborg Palace

Jan 1: Den Bla Planet, Little Mermaid, Amalienborg Castle, Nyhavn

Jan 2: fly out at noon

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Please check on the website for the Copenhagen card if it's worth buying it (they have a calculator where you can select what you plan to see). Alternative: Buy the Citypass only for public transportation.

Note that the 1st of January is public holiday and the city is quite dead (everybody is hung over from New Years eve). Looks like "Den blå planet" is open, but many attractions, almost all shops and many restaurants are closed.

Also on the 31st you may find many attractions being closed or closing early. And many restaurants are closed at night - you will need to make a reservation (several weeks in advance) for restaurants. They will have a special new years menu.

So please check in advance if what you plan to see are open (it might not be posted on their websites yet, but write them an email and ask).

I would skip "Den blå planet" and go explore some other attractions. It's a nice place, but it's something you could ser many places in the world. Maybe go to Kronborg instead if it is open.

Thank you Louise for the reply! I greatly appreciate it.

Amalienborg Castle is open over the New Year, right? I'll go with your suggestion and skip Den Bla Planet.

Also as you suggested, I will look into the CPH card and see if its worth it for my itinerary.

One more, any New Years Eve meal suggestions?

Thank you!

I think it's a little too early for the restaurants to have their new years menu/event listed yet. Wait a month or so and ask a new question about this here - I'm sure somebody has some recommendations (I also cook at home or with friends for new year so I really don't know what's open and not).

Or try to search for questions regarding New Year from last year - there might be some goid advice there.
