Depending on the amount of luggage and not least the time of day. Outside peak-hours you shouldn't have a problem with a suitcase or two in the bus, but during peak-hours, the buses can be jam packed and it can be hard to find space for suitcases. There are luggage-racks for one or two suitcases in SOME buses, not all. If you travel with loads or if you are a larger group, it will be rather hellish in the bus if you are travelling in the morning or afternoon rush (until about 9AM and from about 2 or 3PM until 6PM).

Carrying one suitcase shouldn't be a problem and it shouldn't be a problem in the train, although they can be jam packed as well. But they are build to carry luggage, so to speak ;o)
