Copenhagen Airport

Coming off a cruise and heading to the airport, how do we get boarding passes for our flight? and if we want to store our luggage for a couple of hours where do we do it and how secure is it?

1. Online check in, where you can print your own boarding passes from any old computer. Luggage tags can be got from check-in desk or check-in machine

2. Check-in machine at the airport, prints boarding pass and luggage tags

3. Check-in desk at the airport, prints boarding pass and luggage tags

There are storage lockers (and manned storage) at the main railway station in Copenhagen. Very secure.

we just came home from CPH via SAS. It was the worst airport experience we have ever had. There are no signs anywhere and it was mobbed. You have to:

1. Find a self-service kiosk and find the tiny print on your reservation printout of your travel agency id number (characters--both numbers and letters). If you don't have this, you have to go to the Assistance area --that would be the long line in the corner under the escalator.

2. If you are travellling to the US, the machine will not print your baggage tags (although the machine tells you to wait until they print).

3. You then get in the "Drop Baggage" line to get your luggage tags and drop your checked luggage.

4. Go up the escalators to Security.

5. After Security, begin your walk through the world's biggest mall. But while there, BUY FOOD TO TAKE WITH YOU IF YOU ARE FLYING SAS. This is highly recommended!

6. Walk the length of about 2 football fields until you come to Passport Control.

7. When you get to your gate, you fill out a next-of-kin form and go through to the waiting area. You can't leave after this, and there are just a couple of half-empty vending machines there for food or drink.

Sorry--In the above posting, I neglected to say that you will go to the kiosk to print out your boarding pass and luggage tags (luggage tags if you aren't flying to the US).

If CPH is your 'worst airport experience' you have not been to many airports.

I thought it was an excellent airport. The walk to gate H8 was lengthy but no worse than LGW. Lots of space when you get there, all very quite and peaceful. The immigration chaps were the friendliest I've ever encountered. Trains were good to and from the city. Cash points worked, easy to buy the Copenhagen card.

Not sure what there is to criticise to be honest - try Corfu airport if you think CPH has issues !
