Public transport information.

We will be staying in Copenhagen for 4 days, taking in sites, was thinking of getting out of town to see the castle one day. We will be two adults and two kids, I was wondering what is the option for public transport? ticket every time we travel, day passes? multi day passes. What would be the prices, tried to find info on the web but could not.

Thanks

Kronborg Castle or Frederiksborg Castle?

There are trains form Copenhagen to Helsingor and S-trains to Hillerod.

A 24 hours all-zones ticket costs DKK 130 for adults.

Does the Copenhagen Card also cover the trains from Copenhagen to Kronborg Castle and/or Frederiksborg Castle, and back to Copenhagen?

I guess we will need all zone pass for the day we are planning on going to kronborg castle, other days staying in the city, maybe just S-train pass?

I see with Copenhagen day pass, we just need two adult passes and children will be free, how about all zone or S train passes, children free?

Do any of these passes include boat buses as well?

Can we get these passes or Copenhagen card from airport?

Thanks

All passes cover all means of transport - buses, metro, regular trains, s-trains, local trains and harbour buses. They can be bought at the airport too. There is no separate s-train pass.

A ticket to all zones DKK 130 could be a good option for the excursion day, and day passes/walks cover the other days. Children under 12 years travel free accompanied by an adult.

I have updated the Tripadvisor Travel Article about Copenhagen public transportation, adding a lot of current information:
