Hi,

The key thing to know is about transportation. Most of the attractions are easily within walking distance so bring comfortable shoes and walk as much as possible. To cover distances within the city, you can use the Metro or the bus. The cheapest is to bus a zonal ten trip card. Buy a two zone one (the cheapest option at roughly 150 DKK) as most of the city is within the two zones. However, do ask if you're going further afield (the airport for example is three or four zones from the inner city).

The key sites to see are:

- Amalienborg (the Queen's palace)

- Rosenborg where the crown jewels are kept

- The botanical garden

- The King's Garden (a public park, beautiful)

- Stroget (the main shopping street)

- Tivoli, the fairground garden where you can easily spend a full day

- The Glyptotek Museum

- Nyhavn, the old harbour now full of bars and tourist-trap restaurants is a great place for a drink

If you want to go a bit further, the Louisiana Art Museum north of Copenhagen, the Viking Museum in Roskilde and Helsingor are interesting places to see but in 48 hours, there should be more than enough to keep you entertained in Copenhagen.

Metro network in Copenhagen is very limited - only 2 lines.
