1 day visit/ Currency dilemma

Hi folks,

Will be in the city in a couple weeks time when our cruise ship docks.

Not sure what our plan is yet, considering using HOHO bus and I can just pay for that in euros I believe. Read a lot of people doing DIY tours, is it easy enough to walk from port to the sights? I'm thinking HOHO could make things a lot easier.

I also don't want to have to get too much local currency but I appreciate I will have to get some, in case we fancy buying a lunch, having a beer/wine etc. Is it necessary to pay for the likes of that in Danish currency or are euros accepted by restaurants/cafes?

I presume euros wouldn't be accepted by smaller places if I was just looking to buy a bottle of water etc.

Any help is appreciated as always.

Thanks

The few places that will accept EUR will give you a lousy exchange rate. Better pay by credit card or withdraw money from an ATM.

Walking distances depend where your cruise ship is docking.

is there a site where I can find where the cruise ship will dock? I can find it for other cities but not Copenhagen.

Are tips required in Denmark?

You will find that information on the port's website: http://www.cmport.com/

Tips are not required in Denmark. Tips are usually included in the price.

Pretty much every place takes a credit card, so I would just pay with a credit card and not worry about trying to use Euros or withdrawing kroner. The only place I can think of that didn't accept credit cards is the hot dog stand. No tipping is necessary in Denmark.

So have worked out my ship will dock in Langelinie Pier but we wil be arriving on a Sunday. Will this present any issues?

Langelinie Pier means we should just be able to walk between Port and city comfortably?
