Luggage Lockers

I have checked out other forum posts on this topic. However most of them are older, before 2008. I am just curious with possible new security if the lockers are still available. There are 4 of us traveling together to Stockholm summer of 2010. We will have an entire day at the end of our cruise and would like that day to see Stockholm and not drag our luggage around. Are the lockers still available? (at the central station) Will most likely take the Arlanda Express train to the airport that evening. Are the lockers large enough to hold suitcases? Do you know average price? Thank You so much for the information.

Affirmative.

Was in Stockholm yesterday and used the lockers at the central station.

There are lockers on the lower street level, next to Burger King. These are the modern type where you choose your locker, and pay centrally with coins only (5SEK & 10SEK). The machine prints you a receipt with a code that you'll need to release your luggage.

There are also lockers upstairs in the busstation, after gate 5. These are more traditional lockers where you pay by each box individually and get a key. (Coins only 5 & 10 SEK)

On both spots, there are machines to change from bills to coins.

Cheers,

By the way, the Arlanda Express usually have a promotional fare during the summer, giving 2-for-1 adults, with children for free.

Enjoy!

Dear MrsPuddle,

According to the arlanda.se website, there are lockers at several terminals :

"Safety deposit boxes and lockers in different sizes are available in Terminals 2, 4 and 5. The cost is SEK 30-50 per 24 hour period depending on the size of the locker. There are also lockers for baggage such as golf carts and skis. The lockers can be paid in cash or with a debit card, in Swedish kronor or euros."

They also refer to a bagport.se website with additional information.

For the Arlanda Express 2 for 1 summer adult deal do you know if you have to purchase the tickets in advance or can we buy them that day from the station?

I think we will plan on using our Stockholm card and the bus system to get into town but would like to take the Arlanda Express back out to the airport.

Thanks

LV.

Hi,

Last summer, we bought it at a ticket machine at the airport. There are vending machines both at the airport and at Stockholm C. If you buy the tickets on board, you'll pay an additional service fee (50SEK/ticket).

If you have the stockholm card, I believe it would be valid on the commuter train to Märsta and then on the local bus 583 to the airport. It's all managed by SL.

Regards,

/M
