Copenhagen, Stockholm and......Amsterdam? Oslo?

Hi!

I am planning a trip with my mom in late May early June. We are going to Copenhagen and Stockholm, but I am looking for a 3rd city. We will be spending 9 days there, I am thinking 3 days per city more or less. Any suggestions...? I have been looking into Amsterdam or Oslo. Which is better? Any other suggestions?

My mom and I have traveled quite a lot through Europe, I'm just trying to find a city that goes well with this itinerary and that we haven't been to yet.

Thanks =)

Does it have to be one other big city?

Amsterdam is quite a way away from Copenhagen and Stockholm, why not stay in the same area.

Maybe you could go to a smaller town, or even countryside, in Sweden or Denmark,

for instance; Sweden: Visby and Gotland, Gothenburg, Malmö, Kalmar, or spend a day or 2 in the Stockholm archipelago,

Denmark: Skagen, Odense, Helsingör.

or maybe the north of Germany, for instance Lubeck or Hamburg.

Or, take the ferry from Stockholm to Helsingborg or Åbo.

Or give Stockholm and Copenhagen each 4 or 5 days, and do daytrips on some of those days.

The two cities are quite different. I would go for Amsterdam, the atmosphere is unique. It is a place for strolling along the canals and savour all the different cuisines of this international city. Activities: canal tour is a must, famous art museums (3 of them rather close), Anne Frank house and maybe a trip to the flower gardens in Keukenhof.

Oslo is a beautiful city as well with great views over the Oslo bay and lots of interesting places to visit. I would choose Oslo if I wanted to restrict my trip to Scandinavia.

As for distances it all depends on in which order you visit the cities.

I also think should stick in the area as I always think Amsterdam can always be one of the stops while in Western Europe. Personally I think there are more to see in Stockholm than Copenhagen so maybe a 4 days + 2 days.
