Stockholm/Copenhagen/Amsterdam?

Hi everyone,

I am trying to plan about a 2 week trip over to Europe and was thinking of doing Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Amsterdam. The only problem is that I love going to countries that have very different cultures back to back (for instance, I went to Germany and France on my last trip). I don't know much about Scandinavia/Northern Europe, so can anyone tell me how different these 3 places would be? Is this a good trip idea?

Thanks for your help!

Yes the trip is quite possible to do. Going by train all the way is via Hamburg is one possibility. You will not find such a sharp difference in culture (customs, language, food etc) as between the old Roman part of Europe and the Germanic part (which cuts right through Belgium today). Sweden and Denmark are more similar than the Netherlands and the other two but the Netherlands is still a 'Nordic' type of country in many ways. It is more liberal though when it comes to legislation regulating prostitution and drugs. But it's a great trip I think.

Other suggestions with greater differences are: Greece and Turkey or Russia and Finland.

Stockholm, Copenhagen and Amsterdam is three of the most expensive cities in Europe. And not that different. Why not skip one of your destinations and try something less expensive in Eastern Europe. Like Krakow, Sofia or Belgrad.
