Public Transport

How can I travel on public transport in Gothenburg (bus + tram etc) - ie where can I buy tickets? on the bus or somewhere else? Are there daily passes or carnet?

Can I buy these at the airport?

Or are there ticket machines at the bus/tram shop?

You can buy your ticket on the bus/tram if you carry Swedish coins. You can not buy tickets from the driver anymore. Single fare is 20 kr and valid for 90 minutes. Another option is to buy a single fare by sending a text message. But it might not work with a UK cellphone.

You can also buy 100-kort at Pressbyrån or 7-11. There is a Pressbyrån at Landvetter.

If you're staying for a couple of days you might want to check out the Gothenburg Pass wich includes free public transport.
