What is the best averagely priced restaurant to eat at?

Hi everyone. I'm off to Gothenburg on Thursday for a couple of nights and wondered where the best place is to eat. We don't really want somewhere expensive just somewhere that serves good food and perhaps somewhere locals go too. We would really appreciate your help.

Thanks

Vikki

I would suggest some of the places in Haga like Sjöbaren or Hemma Hos. Stearin on Andra Långgatan is nice as well. If you like ethnic food there are several good places all over town.

We like most food from different cultures and always believe in trying the local delicacies. So not fussy at all.

Have heard Haga is particularly good for food it's just that there's so much choice around.

Thank you for your help :-). So looking forward to my trip.

How much is a dinner at an average restaurant in the Haga area, or in Gothenburg in general? I am trying to figure out how much money to take.

It always depends on how many courses you want, if you drink wine/beer/water/soft drinks etc

Dinner at Sjöbaren as a general example:

Sjöbaren’s Fish Soup with Garlic Bread as a strater - 85:-

Wallenberger of the Sea with Jerusalem Artichoke, Creamy Morrels and Cabbage with a White wine Butter Sauce and

Amandine Potato Crush - 195:-

Home Made Chocolate Truffles for dessert 35:-

Sharing a bottle of Pouilly Fumé 499/2=249:-

Total: 564 SEK, tips not included.

For this meal if the service was decent I would perhaps even it up to 580 SEK

But personally I would be just as happy with just Blue-Shells boiled with White-Wine, Garlic, Herbs and Cream Starter as a maincourse (169 :-) and one or two glasses of wine (2X99 kr)

367 SEK, with tips 380 perhaps
