4 Scandinavia countries in 10 days

2 females coming to Gothenburg to pick up a volvo. Would like to then drive for 6-7 days and visit Copenhagen, Oslo, Helsinki and Stockholm. Any suggestions as to route/order of these cities? Also looking for Info on car ferrys where needed? Appreciate any other suggestions as we are first timers to this area. Thanks!

If you only have 6-7 days for your road trip it will be more or less impossible to achieve.

Oslo and Copenhagen could be done quite easily as they are on the west coast just as Gothenburg.

Otherwise it would mean 2400 kilometers (1500 miles) of driving and two ferry rides. The ferry rides alone will take at least 24 hours.

So my advice would be to focus on the west coast. Loads of lovely things to do along the west coast of Sweden. For instance the Islands of Orust and Tjörn. Fjällbacka, Marstrand to mention a few.

That is rather a tall order. You wont have much time in each city. Lets say you go to Oslo first and spend two nights there. Not too far away. Then down to Copenhagen in half a day and two nights there. Most of next day going to Stockholm, ca 600 km, and two nights there. Turn in the car and take a cruise to Helsinki, great fun, two nights on the ferry and one day in Helsinki. Fly home from Stockholm or stay extra in Helsinki and fly home from there. If you have to turn in your car in Gothenburg its another 480 km or so. No sense taking the car on the ferry to Helsinki and going the long way around the gulf of Bothnia is hardly an alternative.

Yes, we are turning the car in at Gothenburg and then flying to Stockholm, and then the US, so I was trying to see how we could get to Helsinki for a day. Thanks so much for your help!

I would skip Helsinki. My suggestion:

Day 1: Göteborg, drive through Bohuslän (west coast scenic route)

Day 2-3: Oslo

overnight ferry to Fredrikshavn, Denmark

Day 4: Skagen, drive to Copenhagen

Day 5: Copenhagen, drive to Gothenburg

Day 6: Return car, fly/train to Stockholm (spend night there)

Day 7: Stockholm, fly home

Too hurried, but #4 is interesting, IMO.

As I understand it, you´ll be having a couple of extra days without driving to distribute between places - maybe 1 more day in Göteborg/Bohuslän, 1 day more in Copenhagen, 1 day more in Stockholm?

Skagen is worth a short detour. In Denmark, you could save some time by taking the Århus or Ebeltoft ferry to Odden (=Jutland to Zealand) ferries on your way to Copenhagen, run by the Molslinien company. The alternative bridge connection to Zealand further down south also has a fee.

Your route will concentrate on cities though; only Bohuslän and Skagen containing some natural scenery, and there´ll be no mountains or major fjords on your way. Overall, checking out some minor roads will provide better scenery than the major highways.
