Vodka and beer are damn expensive in Helsinki so your first thing to do is to take ferry to Tallinn and collect the cheap booze from there. The winter war is luckily already over.

There's a brewery and a restaurant called Bruuveri at Kamppi mall. I'm not sure if they do any brewery tours. Their beers are good, but a bit pricy. Their buffet lunch on weekdays is relatively cheap and there's plenty if dishes to choose from.

If you're interested in sauna, you should definately go to the last wood heated public sauna near Helsinki center in Töölö district "Kotiharjun sauna".

http://www.kotiharjunsauna.fi. The information in English is a bit hidden on their site, but it's there :)

There's also a guide on what to do in Helsinki for one day, which you may find helpful at: sightseeinghelsinki.fi/sightseeing-in-helsin…

"last wood heated public sauna near Helsinki center in Töölö district "Kotiharjun sauna""

Yes, that would be an experience. However it's in Harju or better known in Kallio great district. Not something what I would call central Helsinki, but still easily reached by a tram.

We just came back from our Baltic cruise and had booked a private tour with paulostours.com We saw the most important sights in Helsinki (Rock church, Sibelius monument. It was a great tour. Paulo talked nonstop and was very informative about life in Finland. He was very good about returning emails and called me several times to answer questions. If you don't have a lot of time in Helsinki like we did I would certainly recommend him.
