Kutsuplus is a new part of the public transport system by HSL. I have some friends that are happy using it, but also have heard, that it isn't 100% reliable. You need to be able to wait for a 15 min delay, say the terms. The terms of use don't exclude non-residents. To use it one needs a working smartphone and a credit card. You load credit to the system in advance, so maybe it isn't worth it for a one time trip. I got the price for railway station - Katajanokanlaituri about 5€.

Taxi would cost ~11 €, Kutsuplus ~4 € so the difference is not that great.
