How much spending money will we need?

Me and my OH are going to Iceland for 5 nights and have breakfast included with our hotel. I'm just wondering how much spending money we should take? We are arranging the trips before we go so only need to know roughly how much spending money to take for food really (exc breakfast)?

Thanks

99.6% of places in Iceland take plastic. We've "needed" cash just 1 time in our last 22 days in Iceland, and that was to buy tomatoes from a tray in front of someone's home. There was a sign with the price and a box to put our ISK in.

It really depends on whether you plan to eat out or self-cater, what your taste in restaurants is (ok with lower-priced soup, pizza or pasta?) and if you plan to drink alcohol with your meals.

I budget 5,000 ISK for one person per day for a medium priced restaurant dinner without alcohol and a quick snack (hot dog etc.) for lunch. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
