late arrival!

Hi ,land in Reykjavik oct 5th 12.30 at night, have checked on the flybus website and didn't notice a flybus so late or could just be me?? Do you have to buy tickets at the airport also and does it drop you off at your actual hotel, which is Hotel Bjork, or does it drop you off in Reykjavik town centre and then you have to get a taxi to hotel then?? Is Keflavik airport quite far from Hotel Bjork in Reykjavik?? Are taxis very expensive? Also does anyone have any info on currency converters icelandic krona to british pound!! Sorry about the lengthy moan, i'm just a worry wart...many thanx

1. Re: late arrival!

There are Flybusses every 40 minutes after every flight so don't worry.

The Flybus will be able to drop you at your hotel, you just tell the busdriver where you are going.

You buy tickets in the arrival area, their desk is well marked.

It is 50 kms from Keflavik airport to the center of Reykjavik and a taxi is much more expensive.

Today, the exchange rate is : 1 GBP = 210 ISK

You will only be dropped at your hotel if you buy Flybus plus tickets. All is explained on their web site.

Search through the forum there is a lot of info on currency.

Just remember that the store owner does not give you your credit card exchange rate but your own credit card company decides what your exchange rate is, so check your own bank for the exchange rate and you won't burn.
