Radisson golden Sands or St Julian

We have narrowed down the decision to Radisson Golden Sands or St Julians area.

What we want: Very close proximity to a sandy beach (assuming beginning of way is nice enough for beach)

Variety of restaurants (we don't eat meat, but do eat fish out)

Nice walks along promenade etc.

Please can oyu advise if we should rule out the Golden Sands owing to its locationa dn which hotels in St Julian area are very close to the sandy beach (St George's Bay?)

We have a 1 year old with us so would want to be able to take a pram along promenade for walks etc.

THANKS!!

The Radisson Golden Sands is a lovely hotel but it really is in the middle of nowhere.

It is right next to a good beach but appart from a couple of beach bars and a cafe ther is nothing else for miles around.

Without doubt your best bet would be St Julians which has a big selection of quality hotels and lots of restaurants and bars ,

The restaurants range from top quality places to cheap cafes and fast food places like McDonalds.

A long promenade runs from St Julians round to Sliema.

There is a sandy beach ( St Georges Bay ) which while not being as big as Mellieha is still reasonable.

An excellent bus service runs from St Julians to various parts of the island ..

Have a good holiday.

Graham.

As someone has already mentioned the Corrinthia Marina Hotel is very well situated for the beach and the rest of St Julians,

The promenade round to Sliema --- a 40 minute pleasant stroll with plenty of cafes along the way -- is ideal for a wheelchair or pram.

We have recently booked the Cavalieri in St Julian's for June.

We went to Sliema last time, and didn't find much to do in the evenings and we ended up in St Julian's quite a few nights.

I was really looking forward to going back to Mamma Mia in Sliema (Tower Road) but I hear it's closed! :0(

Lesley1974 said “I was really looking forward to going back to Mamma Mia in Sliema (Tower Road) but I hear it's closed! :0(“. Are you getting confused with TGI Fridays which was I believe in Tower Road?

Definitely the St Julian's radisson as the golden sands one is very isolated, no promenade or restaurants nearby.

Did you say you are going at the beginning of May? Weather should be lovely and yes, beach weather but the sea will still be pretty cold
