Which hotel in St Georges Bay

I am planning to go to Malta in June with my family, a daughter, who wants to windsurf, son and girlfriend who likes historical sites. I would like them to be able to get around themselves on public transport.

We would like a very luxury hotel, we have looked at the hilton but some people on this site have said it is noisy over head, we like the Westin but wonder how intrusive the casino is and we have also look at the San Gorg but many people say it is more like 3* I have not looked at Intercontinental or SAS rad. can anyone advise

The Casino is not intrusive at all. It is actually not on the same ground as the hotel. We stayed at Westin Dragonara in September in a luxury bay suite - very, very beautiful. In my review of the hotel, you can see a picture from our balcony facing the casino.

Have a nice stay.

If San Gorg Corinthia is a 3* then the Vatican is a chapel!

Hi Violet

We pretty much always stay in St Julians / St Georges.

The Hilton is probably the best and although we have not stayed (will be in a few weeks time though) we have eaten their. It is highly unlikely that you will be disturbed by noise from Paceville.

Have also stayed at the Westin which is good but a little tired in places. You may hear noise in the distance but not enough to be a nuisance.

We regularly stay at the Intercontinental. Love this hotel. It is a little more contemporary than the Hilton but you can get some great deals if you contact the hotel direct and haggle. You want a club room on a high floor overlooking the pool with access to the club lounge (free drinks and snacks etc) with (fab) breakfast thrown in.

These rooms are great and very quiet. I think that you could get a great deal.

The Inter backs onto Paceville (the night club area) and so loads of youngsters throng the area. In the rooms that we specify though we have never had any noise problems at all and we have stayed a few times.

The Radisson Bay Point is a nice hotel with brilliant sea views etc and gets well reviewed. We have not stayed here but will be doing so at Easter. We have looked around though. They upgraded the rooms here quite recently. Some of the public area's are a little worn but what do you expect. The Bay Point is also a little further (15 mins walk) away from St Julians with all its great eateries etc.

Hope this is of help to you.
