We are wanting to go to Malta in October, a after vacation gettaway. We are 35, a lively couple that enjoys drinking, lounging at the beach, going to bars and clubs and sight seeing. Not sure what area to stay in. Thinking about not going all inclusive on hotel so need super easy access to restraunts and shops. Can anyone recommend an area and perhaps hotels that have great views and service but wont break the bank.

St Julians would proberbly be the best place to stay

There is a large choice of hotels and the largest number of restaurants from the cheap and cheerfull to upmarket unes,

Cafes and bars are abundence.

An area of St Julians called Paceville ( pronounced PATCH A VILL ) is the clubbing and disco centre of Malta and gets very busy in the evening ,especially weekends.

There is only a small beach area but others are easily reached by bus,

Enjoy Malta

I would second Grahams suggestion of St Julians - check out the Hilton Hotel.

St Julians is an excellent choice. A cheaper alternative to the Hilton is the Intercontinental which is situated in the lower part of Baystreet (Paceville) and occupies part ofthe beach at St Georges Bay. Although it is close to the clubs and bar area the rooms are soundproofed and it is possible to get a good nights sleep in their comfortable rooms. It is also opposite to a small shopping centre.
