Weather

Hi all

Just wondering how the weather is out there at the moment?

We are flying out in two weeks and I have no idea what to pack.

Is a cardigan/jumper recommended for night time?

Dare I ask, is there rain?

We are getting married there on 28th October so we are trying to work out what to tell people to bring.

Thanks x

1. Re: Weather

It would be a good idea to take a light jacket or cardigan for it can get cooler in the evening.

As for rain , unfortunately for you , but fortunately for the farmers , it can rain but it often happens during the night.

If it does rain during the day it is usually heavy , over quickly and soon dries up.

Pop into a bar or café if it rains , have a drink and it will soon stop .

Have an enjoyable stay.

I normally use the Malta Airport weather site for the most accurate forecasts.

weather.maltairport.com/en/home-weather.htm

The site below gives a reasonable longer range outlook;

As Graham says it can get cooler in the evening. It's not unusual to have thunderstorms this month which can be heavy, though often brief. It's a good idea to have an umbrella and light waterproof available. You can get emergency ponchos as the otherwise warm weather can make wearing a coat uncomfortable It can also get very windy. It can be a matter of shorts and T shirt with a rain mac!

Most hotel restaraunts ask that men wear long trousers in the evening.

The heavy rain can mean flooding, often at night. This can also mean mud on roads and pavements, so it can be an idea to have senisble footwear, especially something that doesn't get ruined in the wet.

We will be flying out soon and will take shorts, T shirts, long trousers, Warmer/long sleeved shirts, light jacket (wear in the UK on the way) sunglasses, 'pacamac' type rain coat or poncho, sun hat, and plastic shoes like crocs. This time last year the main road near Qawra (near the salt pans) was like a building site and we had to walk along part of it.
