Bus transfer points from Cirkewwa to Mdina

Looked at the Arriva website, but cannot seem to find the answer.

Coming from Gozo, to take a day trip to Mdina. What bus do we take from Cirkewwa and where do we transfer to get to Mdina. Mdina sure sounds like a wonderful place to visit.

Thanks

There is no direct route from Cirkewwa to Mdina so I would suggest you catch bus 221 to Bugibba, then change to the airport bus X3 to travel from there to Mdina. There are other ways to do this journey but for anyone who has not used Maltese buses before, this is by far the easiest (and you have more chance of getting a seat on the buses !).

When you have finished at Mdina, you can take bus 51, 52 or 53 to Valletta and spend the rest of the day there.

Make sure that you get a €2.60 day ticket when you get on bus 221 and that will take you on all the other buses on Malta for the day. A bus ticket purchased on Gozo cannot be used on Malta and vice versa.
