Sea Kayaking in Malta in January?

I'm travelling to Malta between 25/01/2014 to 02/01/2014. Has anyone kayaked during winter months?

I guess you meant until 2nd February (you put dates wrong).

I think the kayak rental places only operate April to October though it might be worth contacting them. The sea can be very rough in winter and insurance is an issue.

Mellieha bay is one of the more likely places to try. Here are some websites;

Two years ago I was up on St Paul Bay and Georges Beach taking photos of lots of people out Kayaking some of them were staying for the week so yes they do Kayak in Jan-Feb.

Thanks for all the replies! I emailed the company and they do do tours in Jan. But sadly they need at least 2 people for a single tour and they don't have any bookings during my stay in a Malta :( oh b well. Better luck next time!
