Long term rentals

Does anyone know exactly how many months is the minimum to qualify for a long term rental?

The owners dictate that, not the agents. Letting in Malta is not as regularised as the UK or Ireland. You would need to negotiate. Six months is the norm for a minimal long let but many owners want at least a year to dilute any agents fees. You can sometimes get three months especially over Winter in resorts like Bugibba but owners then often increase the advertised monthly rent slightly to cover their incovenience.
