With a car?
The cost of a ferry crossing for a car and driver is 15.70 euro.
All additional passengers cost 4.65 euro.
You only pay on return. When going over to Gozo you just queue up and then drive on to the boat ( ship ? ) .
Enjoy your trip.
Thanks for this. So those prices obviously include the return?
With regards to visiting the island, would you say it is a day trip? Also is it expensive to park in the key tourist areas of Gozo?
Finally, what is the latest time you can return to Matla?
Graham I've just noticed you're a destination expert for Malta - I don't suppose you could advise on how noisy it would be staying near to Paceville? We are on the street adjacent to Dobbie Street at the moment but are considering changing our booking if we find that reviewers think it is a very noisy area that will mean sleepless nights!! Thanks.
They must be return because as I say there is no charge for going over . You only pay coming back.
It is definitely a jolly good day trip . There is plenty to see there.
When you hire the motor car ask the hire company for a parking disc. This is a round cardboard " clock " that is required in some Gozo parking spots.
Parking is most places in Gozo is easy and usually free except in Victoria , but it is not expensive.
Not sure of the last return ferry but it is fairly late --- about 23.00 hours ( 11 O`clock )
Since answering your question about parking in Gozo I have just seen your post about paceville.
There is no doubt that Paceville , as the clubbing and disco area of Malta can get quite lively especially on Friday / Saturday night . It is the place where the youngsters go.
Fortunately Paceville is a small area and even a short distance away takes you out of the area.
Which hotel are you staying at ?
I have just checked out exactly where Dobbie street is .
It is far enough away from Paceville to be no problem.
It will not be very noisy unless there is some traffic noise which won`t be very bad.
Worry not ---- enjoy your stay.
Outside of a very small area Paceville is a good base and not too noisy. You will find a good selection of bars and restaurants in the surrounding areas. My only concern for you is parking since many of the smaller hotels do not have parking facilities and street parking can be very challenging in Paceville. There is covered paring close to the Portomaso complex however I believe this is quite expensive.
Thanks for the responses - they are all really appreciated.
We will stick with where we have booked and now have more knowledge on the cost of travel to and parking within Gozo which is great :)
All the details you will need about the Gozo ferry are available at:
Enjoy your holiday.
