Bus from Malta Airport to Ferry Terminal

Is there a reliable bus service that takes you straight from the airport to the ferry terminal to catch the gozo ferry? If so, how much is a ticket? And how long will the journey take?

There is no direct route to the ferry from the airport.

You need two buses both of which run every 30 minutes.

The number 8 goes from the airport ( in front of the departures hall ) to Valletta 30 minute journey 47 cents.

Then 45 bus from Valletta to gozo ferry ---- Hours ride 58 cents.

The other way is by taxi --- there is a taxi desk in the arrivals.

About 35 euros fare .

Graham.

Yes it has finished - I think that they expect you to use maltatransfer.com instead.

Expect a Mini tour of Malta if you intend to use Maltatransfers. Cirkewwa is the furthest point from the airport, and they board all the people in one large bus after letting you wait about 1 hour at the airport for the rest of the group. You will then be shown all the hotels where the other people are staying - Valletta, Bugibba, Sliema, St. Julians, etc. 2 hours later you will arrive at Cirkewwa. On your way back make sure you leave enough time to get to the airport in time for chekin!

i'd rather recommend that you opt either for a taxi or for a pre-booked transfer. There are no direct buses, and you have to go to Valletta first to then take a bus to the Ferry, which in all will take you about 90minutes. Otherwise, as explained above, expect a 'tour of Malta' should you opt for the maltatransfers.com ...with several stops in so many hotels.

Yikes!! Well that doesn't sound like a fun start to the holiday at all! I've booked a private taxi as this all sounded way to stressful. Thanks for your replies.

Pre book a transfer with www.maltatransfer.com - Euros 10 per person, I have used them before and because there were only 2 of us we had a private taxi. Have booked them again for next weekend. Transfer takes approx 45 mins.
