I am arriving in Malta at approximately 7pm next Saturday. I then need to get a ferry to Gozo. What is the fastest and safest way of doing this?
And is it expensive to get official transfer?
The quickest way to the Gozo ferry at Cirkewwa would be by taxi.
In the arrivals hall is a taxi desk where you can pay for a taxi , take the receipt outside to a waiting vehicle hand the driver the paper and he will take you directly to the ferry,
The official cost of this is 32 euros and will take about 50 minutes.
You could catch the X1 bus from outside the departures hall . These run about every half hour , take about an hour and a quarter and will cost you 1.50 euros.
There are several firms that do transfers inc Malta transfers which are again situated at the airport.. Prives are usually about 8 euros but you will proberbly be in a mini bus with other stops on the way so may take longer.
Not sure what you mean about being safe !
There is no real danger . No more chance of a road accident than anywhere else.
What we usually do is hire a direct service from the airport to the residence in Gozo for Euro 65 from Carmen. Very good service. Check her website http://gozoway.net
It may even be an idea to hire a car & cross yourself on the easily accessed ferry. Car hire is the best way to enjoy Gozo and you can address the airport transfer issue as well. Car hire here in Malta is reasonable and often the daily rates easily compete with transfer costs.
