where to stay.

We would like to stay where there is a good long prom for walking,a hotel with an outdoor heated swimming pool and a good bus service. It sound a bit picky but thats what artificial hips do to you! We are going late may or early june. Whats the sea temp likely to be?

I would say that Sliema would be an ideal place to stay.

It has a long promenade with St Julians ,with its bars and clubs , one way and round to Valletta the other.

It is pretty flat most of the way round and has a great bus service that will take you cheaply ( 47 cents ) and quickly ( 15 minutes ) to Valletta.

The whole island is easily reached.

There are a few nice hotels in Sliema. I will mention just two. The Fortina and the Waterfront both seem to get good reports.

They are both on the sea front overlooking Valletta across the harbour and near to the ferry area where you can get harbour cruises,

Hope this is a help.

Don't think that you will find a hotel with an outdoor heated pool. Some will have indoor heated pools but the outdoor ones are used in Summer and definitely don't need heating then.

Late May/early June should be fine for swimming in the sea, might be a bit cold when you first get in but quite manageable.

Sliema would be ideal as you have a long promenade in both directions. Buses pass all along the seafront so you can get about very easily. I'd add The Preluna to graham's list. Check all of them out to see which one would suit you best
