Lots of places nearby (walking distance but not just across the road) for breakfast so if it's a good deal go for it

We’re staying at The Palace in March and have also and decided against Breakfast as we got a really good deal room only. When looking for possible breakfast options I noticed Talk of the Town café which I believe is located at The Palace itself opens for breakfast from 8.30am. I did have a link to the menu but can’t find it now but the selection seemed ok ranging from full cooked to pastries and prices much better than as part of a room rate. I will post the link for you when I get home if I can find it.

There are many restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance, there is also a supermarket in the next road if you don't want to pay hotel prices for water, wine etc, you can buy stuff from outside and keep in the room fridge no problem. We stayed 2 yrs ago and are also going at Eater this year. We had breakfast in the hotel one day and thought it was expensive for what you get.

Breakfast at The Palace may be expensive but if you want a BIG breakfast then it's worth it. It's a help-yourself buffet with hot food, cold meats and cheeses, a few unidentifiable local delicacies, several typres of bread, various fruit juices and even sparkling wine. As much tea and coffee as you want, of course. We've had breakfasts here and then not needed anything else until the evening (and I'm normally a hearty eater!).

If you only want coffee and a light breakfast, go to a local cafe - or, as someone suggested, there's a big supermarket just round the corner where you can buy all sorts of breads, cheeses, sliced meat, etc. But we're going again soon and have booked bed and breakfast because we think it's worth it.
