Public pools/beach clubs in Sliema

First time to Malta, looking forward to exploring but also to some much deserved R&R. Our hotel (Bayview annexe) has a rooftop pool however its likely to be busy in June I hear, therefore we're looking for a nice freshwater pool or beach club from where we can chill out, soak up some sun and swim.

Looking at Google Earth there appears to be a large lido close to the ferry terminal in Sliema, however I cannot find information about this anywhere. Could anyone help and provide rough costs for entry etc so that we can budget in advance please?

Finally, if anyone knows of anywhere that is geared more towards adults (we don't have children ourselves and although we don't mind them, we'd much prefer to not be disturbed during our quiet holiday) we'd be happy to pay extra for a 'luxury' style beach club or pool area to avoid this.

Much appreciated.

The pools that you are viewing are most likely the ones that belong to the Fortina Hotel - they do have a policy of allowing non residents to sunbathe and swim in the pool(s), but obviously at a price - somewhere in the region of 10 euros per day inclusive of bed and brolly.

Hi there. I am exploring the same question at the moment. According to google map and some previous posts The Lido looks like a good beach club. They have a facebook page with photos.

The best beach club on the island goes by the name of 'Merkanti Beach Club' and is run by the Hilton Hotel at St Julians, in addition to the Hotels pool complex, the beach club boasts two main pools (one adults only) and a kids pool together with the usual eating and bar facilities.

In Sliema you have the Fortina Hotels beach complex, together with three or four other beach clubs adjacent the Qui Si Sana road bordering the George Bonello Gardens. There is also the Fortizza Lido adjacent to the Sliema Water Polo Club.
