Best I can suggest is hire a car.

A taxi to Qawra is quite expensive I think.

You have picked a nice hotel but as you summise it is isolated.

There is a bus that goes from Golden Bay to Sliema passing through Bugibba/Qawra and another to Valletta

go to atp.com.mt and see the schedules

There are other buses which pass through Xemxija/St Pauls Bay which is quite near to Golden Sands.

I would ask the hotel if it`s possible to get a taxi from there to the hotel and vice versa

Check with the hotel whether they offer any complementary bus services - they might seeing as the hotel is in a remote area. Other than that you could use public buses during the day but make sure you know what time the last bus runs. The hotel should be able to provide you with all this information

Beach and hotel at Golden Sands are great so make the most of that. Enjoy your trip

during the day I imagine the hotel offers a shuttle service to Xemxija from where you can quite easily catch a bus.

the 5 * hotels in St Georges Bay offer the service to Sliema

The Radission hotel is isolated.though they offer a Courtiey bus from the hotel stops in sliema ,and Valletta. You have to pre book the bus from the hotel reception as there is only one bus .Taxi sevice but it costs an arm and a half or There is a company which operate from the hotel and they do transfers to bugibba and St Julians .The other option is the public bus .The public bus stops quite early and on the week end its a night mare as all the people from the beach use it .

Hello, fear not, the Radisson Golden Sands is not totally remote. The 652 runs from 9.30am until about 7 along a coastal route passing thro Bugibba and Qawra & St Julians terminating at Sliema. There is also the 645 which serves Mosta and then onto Valletta. The hotel runs a free shuttle service at intervals during the day and also provides on specified evenings a hotel bus to nearby Bugibba and St Julians for a small fee but these will have to be pre booked. If self-catering, there is a small supermarket on site which is OK for urgent supplies and also a couple of beach bars serving the usual fast food. Hope this helps.

I think it all boils down to this - if you do not intend hiring a car this hotel is suitable for someone who wants a relaxing beach holiday in a lovely hotel with an occasional excursion.

It is not for someone who wants a busy, sight seeing holiday which requires a regular bus service. Nor is it for someone who wishes to frequent `nightlife` or bars where you can have a drink and people watch.

Like all 5* hotels the price of drinks and food will be high.

Part of it`s attraction is it`s position for those who want to get out of the hustle of everyday living in a lovely, quiet enviroment

The radisson is lovely we go there every year in august. We usually hire a car which is quite cheap and probably the best way to get around. The hotel prices are quite high but the Alvioli restaurant is quite reasonable. Just across from the hotel there is a very nice cafe which serves cheaper food and is good for children.

Its not far to St Pauls which has restaurants the buses are really cheap but I'm not sure what time they stop running. There are lots of taxis from the hotel which aren't too bad. Hope you enjoy your trip we are there from the 15th can't wait.
