Transport to Three Cities

We are arriving in Valetta on Sept 6 by cruise ship so will only have one day from 8am to 6pm. We much prefer to hire a vehicle or taxi than go on an organised tour. Can anyone advise me if it is possible to do this as we disembark from the ship. Generally there are many cars and drivers waiting for hire but not sure if the same in Valetta. Many thanks.

There will be usually plenty of cabs there ... if you want a tour you could email info@guideinmalta.com he's very good and I feel sure he could organise one for you.

Do be aware that taxis do tend to hike up the prices for "cruise ship days" as will some shop outlets. It is easily possible to walk into Valletta .. a bit steep up the hill but many do it.

Many thanks for the info. Didn't realise that you could walk the distance. Sounds very appealing.

Hey wait a minute. You can walk to Valletta, NOT the three cities, because those are on the OTHER SIDE of the harbour. For the three cities, you will need transport.

You are on the Valletta forum talking about transport to the three cities. Valletta is the capital city of Malta where your cruise ship will dock. The three cities are Senglea, Vittoriosa and Cospicua and are on the opposite side of the Grand Harbour to Valletta. You would need transport to get to those cities

Thanks again for the info. I emailed info@guideinmalta.com and received an answer today from Vince. He has booked us in for a days tour and has suggested a few other places of interest. It all sounds great.
