ferries

Well, I have searched and searched but cannot get details of daily ferries at all! The ones I look at go on a weekly basis or same day return. I want to stay in Sicily for 2 nights. Can someone please forward me details of the daily ones from Mlta to Sicily?

Cheers

You could fly there , in 35 minutes , and spend more time in Sicily for a few Euro more .

Check your dates on

www.airmalta.com.mt

most dates at 98 euro return fare and all taxes and charges included .

Welcome to Malta

Thanks for your reply and mentioning the flights. I have looked them up but my 2 pals have decided they would like to go by ferry. So I will book the hotel near Taormina as that was suggested on this site as a lovely place to visit.

Thanks again.

You need to go to Valletta to get the ferry to Sicily, from the Waterfront pier depot .

Organize transport , bus or taxi , and be there early to board on time .

By the way would recommend you consider the extra cost to go club class, its not much and the advantages are you can go out on deck, which makes it more like a short cruise, and essential in my case as I have no sea legs, and below deck with the masses would have made me feel unwell. its not crowded, the seating is more comfortable, and there is a small cafe for snacks drinks etc.

Forgot to recommend a visit to the Ancient Greek Theatre at Taormina, the views towards Mount Etna are spectacular. The main street in Taormina is commercialised as you might expect, but in the side streets there are some lovely little shops, restaurants and cafe's to investigate.
