1. Re: Hypogeum

The Hypogeum restricts the number of people to 80 a day and each tour is restricted to 12 people, so yes it is important to book to save disappointment

According to their web site, the 12 noon and 4 pm tours cannot be booked in advance, but only by personal application from the Museum of Archaeology in Valletta 24 hours before. Buses stop locally (parking near the Hypogeum is a nightmare) - BUT you can park more easily near the Tarxien Temples a few hundred metres walk away. Attendance is requested 15 minutes before your tour starts.

I booked online before we left the UK. It was a well organised tour, but as you might imagine restricted in terms of where you could go in the site. It's quite understated as a site, but if you stop for a minute and take in how ancient it is and how little anyone knows or understands about the people who built it, it's quite a remarkable experince.

I had no problems booking online before we went.
