Nightlife

My husband and I (early 50s) are thinking of staying in Valletta for 1 week in early June but am a bit concerned about the posts which suggests it closes down in the evenings. We aren't looking for riotous nightlife (not at our age anymore!!) but like to wander about in the evenings with a choice of some restuarants and bars to sit in and watch the world go by. Is this possible in Valletta? Thanks

I would recommend Sliema or St Julian's rather than Valletta

have to agree with Macl1uk.

Sliema or St Julians would be the better choice.

Getting to Valletta is very easy and will only take 15 /20 minutes from Sliema and 10 m0re from St Julans.

The seafront in Sliema is very nice with lots of bars and cafes.

I would higly reccomend Valletta to stay in, if you want bars and cafes you can always either walk down to Floriana (2 / 4 mins walk) or catch the bus to Hamrun (5 mins max), here you will find many local bars, no tourists, but plenty of real friendly Maltese people the best people in the world, it's totally safe and very worthwhile, give it a go you have nothing to lose and perhaps plenty to gain.
