5 days in Luxembourg

Hi,

I am going to spend 5 days in Luxembourg (4/8 december), and I am looking for some ideas to spend my time there, because my friends are working and can´t have so much time to stay with me.

They suggest me to visit Trier (Germany) and Hidelberg (Germany) - I love those Christmas Markets.

But I have some time left.

What should I do ?

Heidelberg is a long way out for a day trip. Go south and visit Nancy in the Lorraine (France).

You really only need 2 days for Luxembourg town so definitely consider Trier (Germany), Metz (France) and Vianden (Luxembourg).

Trier - Yes, a definate.

You can combine it with the riverfront town of Remich in Luxembourg. Pleasant riverside walk and the riverside hotels have excellent meals at very reasonable prices. But the real reason to visit is the wine, Luxembourgs best. The local Vignerons have a selection of grape varieties to taste, I suggest the Pinot Noir (white). The drive north and east to Trier along the river is scenic.
