I'm also curious for any info on getting to Egypt from Cyprus. I've done a lot of research and it sounds like ferries may not be running currently due to the unstable situation in the middle east.

Sunny Coast apartments are in Kapparis some four miles from Protaras. It is/was an apartotel but the apartments are being refurbished and sold off as individual units. The complex is in a good position if you want a quiet, relaxed time close to beaches and a few very good restaurants and bars, but within 10 mins by car of Protaras or the traditional town of Paralimni.

The nearest bus stop is a good 10-minute walk.

See www.kapparis.info for more info

There is loads of building work going on there! Spoke to someone staying there yesterday and they had changed room 5 times since being there. All due to the problems caused by the redevelopment!!!

You are staying right next to the border with the North. An excursion to Famagusta Ghost Town will cost you £15 - £19 (half day) or you could do that + Kyrenia which is a fantastic trip. look at> trackers. com. cy

An alternative would be a trip round the coast. The Raptor Sea Safari goes from the Golden Coast a small harbour not far from kapparis. Take a 3hr trip from there, see the Ghost Town from the sea, see all the coastline from Famagusta round to Nissi Beach (Ayia Napa), swim & snorkel, eat and drink and have fun in the sun £25A/ £15C look at> manic-ribs. com

Have been told that the trip to Egypt by sea is too rushed as you spend so much of the time on transfers and on the ship and that flying gives you the chance to see more!

Hope that helps
