Austerity strikes - is Cyprus affected?

I'm off to Cyprus at the crack of dawn tomorrow (June 29) and am a bit worried after hearing that some flights to Cyprus are being affected by the strikes against the Greek government's austerity measures.

Can anyone tell me is Cyprus is affected, or is it just mainland Greece? I thought Cyprus was governed independently, so I guess the delayed flights could be a result of a knock-on effect.

Any information would be much appreciated. I'm already going to be short on sleep, so i could do without lying awake worrying about this!

:o)

Cyprus is an independent republic. Obviously if there are strikes in Greece those can cause problems for any other airline flying to or from Greece and presumably if the Greek air traffic control is closed there may be delays with routing traffic around Greece.

Thanks, Fred. Pretty much as I thought, so that's good news.

Having said that, my parents were in Cyprus a few years ago when there was a general strike, and they got an extra day's holiday out of it - every cloud, and all that!
